I have totally stripped down my 6 cyl black motor and found that there is quite a lot of black stuff built up on my pistons and on the valves. As this is my first project and to be honest I dont know alot about this stuff I have no idea how to clean it all up safely without damaging the motor or is this a sign that the motor is tired and neads some more attention that I cannot offer?
Also any suggestions what else I should do to the engine whilst it is out, stripped and on a stand?
its just carbon build up nothing to worry about want to clean it off get some carby cleaner just be carefull of the bores when you cleaning heas should be alright to give a bit of a scrub
