Vc running real rough after 10-15 mins

HI fellas I have. 81 vc 202 blue motor today on the way
To work after around 10 mIns of driving the car began to stall and was running real rough
I could start it but will have to pump it hard just to keep it ticking over. If I waited 5 mins or so it would start no worries idol good, drive for 500 meters or so then the same prob again. Like its not running on all
Cylinders. I might be barking up the wrong tree but has this got something to do with the engine not cooling properly. The temp gauge seems to be ok.

Ignition could be playing up. Electric ignition modules fitted from VC onwards after 10 yrs usage gets a bit fussy towards underbonnet heat.

So a replacement Is in order then are you meaning the whole ignition or just parts of it
I know I sound like a bit of a spaz so any help is greatful

I had a problem similar and it would go 500mts and stop but did it cold as well.Turned out to be a crack in the fuel filter sucking air go when the bowl ran dry it stopped.

at this stage i'd just have a look at electronic ignition module; in addition, check the cap and rotor button for wear.

Ok fellas i think i discovered the problem. i noticed that when the car was running rough and having trouble running the clear plastic fuel filter was empty and after 3-4 mins while the engine was off it would fill up, then the engine would have no probs running till the filter was empty again. had a good look at the filter and noticed that it was full of foreign material dirt/bits of plastic,will replace it tomorrow aslo decided to remove the fuel tank and give it a good clean out, was quite shocked to see the amount of shit to come out of it, also gave the lines a good blow out. hopefully that will eliminate the problem.

Glad you found the problem. Sounded like fuel to me.Always something going wrong with the old girls.
