Hi all ok well this is my first post on here...
Ok I have a VK commodore with a 6 and it has a mC6 the problem is that the box is leaking oil from about 3 places and it has a wine in from 1st to 3rd . I was wondering if there is still any place I Melbourne that does a reco of that box or am I better off just changing it to a aus 4 speed ?

Stick and aussie 4 speed in it, you could pull it out and do seals and run it till it goes bang but they arent a good box, to an M20 or T5 conversion is the way to go

what is needed to change the gearbox to a M20 from the MC6??
Cheers Darren
From memory gearbox, tailshaft, selectors. Speedo cable fits, clutch is the same, maybe a throwout bearing.

HI all well I have change the gearbox to the aus 4 speed, its been fun hm sort of anyway i have now a prob with the cluch cable when the mc6 was instaled the cable was fine but with the m20 its now its loose. question do I have to change the cable to a vh one????
Cheers Darren
Sorry for the bum steer, looks like you will have to do a clutch cable, to get you out of trouble you can make up a spacer to space the cable back from the bellhousing and give the required adjustment and remove the excess play.
A piece of old pipe with a slot cut in it will work, just slide it over the cable when fitted then up to the outer cover for the cable.
