If my memory is correct Im pretty sure that the moulds on one of these models were stuck on with a type of double sided tape and the other model had a type of rivet thru the door skin, front guard and rear quarter that had a plastic clip over it and that clip then held the mould in place. Those rivets are a bugger when you want to permanently remove the moulds as you need to grind and weld etc.
My question here is does anyone know which model used each of these set up`s?
I think the VC had bonded strips as I remember breaking out the silicon a few years back
my vb has rivets, dont' own a vc can't say on them. vh is glued on.
vb has pins welded on from factory which use a plastic clip, where vc has double sided tape.
Use double sided tape and sikaflex they will NEVER come off, make sure you use the special primer with it.

Hey thanks for the replies, I thought it was the VC that used the tapeIm thinking of building a replica of my old group c in my profile pic and as i wont be using the moulds i would want to start with the model that used the tape as it would make my job a little easier...
Those pins/studs are spot welded to the panel using a stud gun, You can usually remove them by using a pair of multi grips and twisting them to break the weld .The stud gun was also used for removing dents .You just put a stud in the middle of the dent then use a modified dent puller to pull it. The stud and clip method was phased out when the VC was introduced thats why some panels on the VC had studs and some had double sided tape which was pre heated befor being appplied to the panel .
