Have an intermittent stalling and no start with my daughters vk that both an experienced auto electrician and auto repairer can't fix, catching it in no start mode for more than ample time to fix it. My question is when measuring the resistance between pins 5 & 7 on the AFM as the vane is rotated, how much 'flat spotting' or gaps of open circuit is acceptable? My memory is hazy on this but this AFM seems to have grown worse in 12 months since I tested it last. The garage told me they checked it and I presume this is the only test that can be done without a wind tunnel.
Cancel that fellas, I had the ohmeter accidentally limited to too low a range. There's no "flat spots" or gaps so it passes the test. I've heard that AFM's can still be faulty and pass that test. Looking for a working vk efi on the Queensland Sunshine Coast to resolve the issue once and for all.
