    Default Duel Fuel

Today i fix the problem with the fuel on my car today. Now i have both Fuel and LPG The problem i now have which i asked before is that the air pump in my car doesnt work seased up.

I want to remove this for the motor and block up the port holes into the head. Will this be a problem for rego in NSW as it will be missing?.

I cant see any problem my self just really dont want somthing bolted to my motor that doesnt do anything or work for that matter as i am cleaning up the engine bay and making it tidy.

Has anyone out there in NSW have a VK without a air pump running?

I still have most of the emission controls there so i cant see why it would make any diff with the air pump there or not

Ok to properly pass the emissions test you will need to have a correctly hooked up and working air pump, reason although no more pollutants are actually ocming out of your car the test measures the amount of pollutants per the volume of gasses coming out of the exhaust. That how holden got the 202 through for another year just simply watering down the pollutants

I had one seized up as well so I pulled it to bits relubed it up hacked the fibreglass pump fins to peices so it only free spins and doesnt pump and put it back together. The pump makes a little rattly noise but it all looks the way its supposed to.

What I suggest you do is to make the car actually look like its all hooked up so leave the pipe work all there etc if you get pulled over or a mechanic is doing a rego inspection they wont know any different unless an emissions test is completed which is highly unlikely.

    cheers

Thanks for your comment Scott. I will pull it apart and have a look what i can do. There is no belt connected to the pump as it was removee before i bought the car so i will connect a belt up to it once fixed and just tidy up the pipes that run all over the place.

As you know with a black 202 they can be messy with the EPA stuff connected if not looked after well (like my car) and basicly when i got it half the stuff was removed and was just floating around the engine bay.

ESP with the duel fuel it can look even messier, if you go dedicated LPG and remove the petrol components you can run without all the polution setup.
