aircon controls question [84 vk berlina]

Something i dont get with this car, the belt from the compressor has been removed (it was noisey) so theres no actual aircon.

If the right hand control is on 'norm' the engine sounds ok, but if i put it on 'vent' 'dem' or 'floor' it starts running rough. Why would this be happening? I drove it this morning on 'vent' and it kept stalling.

Sounds like a vacuum leak it could be simply a hose off on your aircon controls or it could be a vacuum feed actuator for the aircon which would be a paint to change.

hmm ok, i was stuffing around near the vacuum hoses when i was putting central locking in. The whole thing is a bit screwed. It seems like its stuck on floor now, theres no air coming out of the vents, and the fan speed selector is ****ed. Will have to investigate it further. Thanks for that info, should help.
