Replacing Vk Fuel Pump

I am currently replacing the fuel pump on an 85? Berlina (non EFI) which had a leak.

After putting in the new non-genuine (Repco) fuel pump the car is running really rough and ended up flooding the carby.

I put in the old one and it ran fine (except for the leak).

Does anyone have any ideas as to what I need to do to adjust the new pump?

Thanks

That's Odd

I replaced the pump on my VK recently and had no problems. Sounds to me like the new pump is the wrong part, like the fuel pressure is too high or something...

I bought a Goss fuel pump (decent brand) from Supercheap and it is great.
