Ok first of all are you sure you dont have a vacuum leak?
Secondly does it do it when its cold & warm or only cold?
What is your idle speed set to?
How far did you have it appart?
Did you have the primary metering jets out? (If so the jets may have been fitten incorrectly or have some crap in them)
Make sure your fuel strainer doesnt have a heap of crap in it

When you assembled the carb did you make sure your Intermediate choke shaft lever and fast idle cam are in the correct positions?

Are your secondaries fully closed and not sticking open slightly?

Carb Tune, is pretty indepth on these things your gunna have fun

    Float level
Ok odds are you have the float level wrong

To adjust the float level you need a float level guage, mine is a Kent Moore its like a thin ruller but the measurements start about 1/2way up.
With the engine running at idle, and the choke wide open gently insert the guage into the vent slot or hole next to the air cleaner mounting stud.
The float level should be 9.5mm +/- 1.5mm.
If the float level is out remove the air horn and adjust the float level.

    Accelerator pump
Make sure the pump rod is in the inner hole, measure the height of the pump stem from the air cleaner mounting surface to the top of the stem it should be10.4mm if not adjust the pump lever accordingly.

Theres heaps of choke adjustments but I think the problem is float level or a jet problem

Failing all that check out your idle system for dirty or gunked up passages.

Last of all the gaskets you installed my not be sealing properly check the torque on the screws.

    hope this helps

    cheers
    Scott
