    Angry EST sensor fitment

Is there a trick to refitting the EST sensor to the correct depth into the trans?
I've just torn the botom clean out of mine.

    dont

replace the EST with a electronic distributor off a VH, and welcome yourself to a new world of reliability, tune-ability and the end of stupid EST issues

I just found that "suggestion" in an old thread. (some made it sound like a demand (-: ).

I'll check the price difference, unfortunately $$$ will have to govern the path taken at the moment.

I've just been quoted $60 for the sensor and $125 for the dissy.
I guess I'm just gonna have to stick with the EST system for a while longer.

    OMG!! :my:
My wife just told me to get the dissy!!!
Ya coulda knoced me over with a feather!!!!

    Default Sensor

I have experienced a similar problem re the sensor being damaged. After many frustrating hours I removed the gearbox and found that one of the pins on the flywheel had actually moved out slightly. It was hitting the bottom of the sensor. I tapped it back in with a mallet and bingo, no more problems. That was 2 years ago. I think the threads on replacing the ECU with a VH dizzy elsewhere on here is great advice.
