I have just recently got a v.k efi 202, back on the road after it's near death, but am having a few teething problems, when it starts cold it flutuates between 300-800 rpm and a cloud of blue/white smoke will blow out the exhaust, also i only seem to be getting 5 k.m out of a litre, thats not even really pushing it hard, i have recently changed the fuel tank, and fuel pump,
I am thinking it might just be the injectors but not to sure!!
can anyone help me please, fuel prices are killing me...
cheers.
What fuel pressure is the car running, prior to start, idle & fast idle?
There is a hose that runs from the rocker cover to your airbox in the airbox there is a little foam filter is it wet with oil?
Failing that test your airflow meter and make sure its within spec

What does that hose do, i can't seem to find it in my engine manual? On mine the hose off the rocker cover is cut off and there is now a hole in the side of the airbox.Originally Posted by vkberlina
ok it is a crank case ventilation hose, the oil fumes from the engine into the airbox to be burnt but the engine.
Now if the engine has blow by around the rings oil will be forced down the tube into the airbox. basically a tell tale sign the engine is stuffed and it needs a rebuild
