clutch fan

quick question.
i just fit a clutch fan and cowling to suit, but it always spins. i have had the car running for about 5 - 10 mins and the fan was spinning hte whole time. i didnt use a spacer because if i did the fan would hit the bottom chassis rail. so i bolted it straight to the water pump housing. the fan seems in good condition. i thought that when the fans s**t themselves they dont spin at all.....

any ideas?

the fan will allways spin, it just depends on the heat of the engine, more heat = more spin, less heat = less spin. i think that when the engine is cold you should ba able to hold the fan while the engine is at idle, but not when warm. hope this helps
