I jus wanted some feedback on what i should do with my vk!!
OK, it all started back in 2004 feb when i bought it from a freind for $1000 but needed to replace the water pump and thermostat to drive it home 2hours but it kept overheating :b: . turned out a new harmonic balance was required and kept it going relaibly for 10-11 months until it cracked a couple of pistons over the chrissy-new year period 2004.
As i didn't have the money to buy another engine, i decided to rebuild to old one which was a good idea at the time![]()
Ok i got the head reco'd for gas $400 and bore to .30 thou nothing special just a reliable car and spent ages cleaning all other parts, acl pistons, new cam, ground crank, new bearings.
After receving it all back my and me dad put all the parts back together, but as soon as we started it, water in the oil :b: . After carefull deliberation we tracked the problem to a crack in the 1st and 6th cylinder! While this happened i got a 5 speed celica to convert to manual another $300 gettin parts but worth it![]()
To have a car on the road we were givin a complete block to put in my car, but this one burns the oil (and quickly) a 2hour round trip to phillip island burnt almost all the oil.I get my license in 4 weeks and have found another block for $120 to put all my parts in.
I know this is long but what should i do get another car or replace to block again????? as i still have new pistons,cam,crank and bearings lol![]()
just get another block and machine it up it will only cost you rings & gaskets and a few odds and ends.
