Hi Guys,
I am looking at buying a VK wagon that someone has cut the a/c hoses of. Basically(dont ask me why) they want to tidy up the engine bay so they removed the Compressor and any other engine bay parts for the A/C
They still have the compressor, but nothing else. They have cut the hoses off on the rubber side if you know what I mean. Any thing else that could be screwed of was.
Is getting A/C back in this vehicle hard and expensive?? The vehicle is costing me 1K.
I have a Vk BT1 yers ago, like 10 yrs ago, so I am out of touch with prices etc.
Secondly what rating was the VK with trimaitc power wise?
Thirdly how hard is it to put the EFI top end on a VK??

not overly expensive to fix the aircon if you do most of the work yourself, I would replace the TX valve right away just to make 100% sure all will work
You need to make a decision now what way you want to go with the car before you start spending money on aircon and stuff, reason is if you do an EFI conversion you will need to change mounting points of things like aicon compressor, power steering etc power steering is the main one, this means you will need new hoses etc, differen aircon compressor, engine mounts (mainly drivers side) EFI power steering pump, and a few other assorted items.

I have been out of the car seen for a while but have had over 15 commodores over the years, I actaully did the first VN V8 Efi conversion in a VL Calais in WA .I had brought the car for 15k.Long time go, conversion cost me over 12K with fresh engine etc. Also had VC with 310 Pak I think it was, Vk BT1, Vt SS, VL LE, Vk Calais, jeezus could go on for ever.
I have decided not to buy the Vk I have found a VL Berlina Wagon for 2 K with A/c although not working everything is there.
Might do a conversion one day.
