VK rear Parcel HELP

[VL-VP-VT]

I recently bought a VK Sedan, I wanted to know if anyone has any idea what I should DO, I have 2 kids in car seats, someone has cut all the metal from the parcel shelf, possibly to put subwoofers in ( stupid me for not checking) but really who thinks to look under there when buying a cheap car.
would it be worth my while welding another part from a wrecked car in.
also they have cut all the metal from behind the rear seat, which I didn't notice when looking at the car.

You should be able to get another one out of a wreck or somewhere and weld it straight over the top.
Ive been told that here in Adelaide itat its illegal to cut the shelf out and defectable as aparently its structural.

yeah I had a feeling it is illegal to have it cut out that is the reason I want to have another one put in

hhmm might not be legal to just weld it in either. May need engineering??

You can just pick up a shelf outta a wrecked car, and just spot weld it in. As for the metal behind the rear seat, i'd be hiding that, would have been used for subbies, and i doubt it would be legal.
