VK 308 EFI Dizzy into Carby motor

Hi, I have just put a motor back together that my son owns. The original owner was going to convert the carb engine to EFI. We got all the parts except the heads so I decided to stay with the carby. I have a brand new dizzy for an EFI (VN I think) and want to know if it will work in the standard carby motor. It looks like we didn't get the original dizzy with all the bits and pieces. nup wont work the VN-VT dizzy has a hall effect and an external ignition module the VK carb runs a HEI elecronic diffy with its work ignition module.

To tell the difference between a VN to later model dizzy the early model ones have a blue plug and the later model have a black plug see http://members.westnet.com.au/scottl...l/problems.htm

The new dizzy (still in plastic) I have has the blue plug on the side. I guess I'll have to try to sell it and get the right one for the VK. I'll get my lad to chase up the last owner to see what happened to the original one. Thanks for your help Scott. Cheers Rossco
