i cant seem to get the SL/E mirrors out. the problem is getting the bit u adjust the mirror with apart so it will fit through the hole. anyone done this before??

Yes I have done this, it's not hard. Take off the black cap piece then you need three or four screw drivers or similar to hold back the small locking tabs that hold the black piece on ( careful they break easy) then it just slides off and then just un screw the mirror and it slides off. If you need pics or more info just shout Grassy

As Grassy says, once you have removed the mirror adjustment knob and have managed to pull the black cover off (mine came right off as somone had already broken the clips) you will see 3 screws that hold the mirror and another that holds the black outer plate.

Remove these screws, the mirror pops out. I'm not sure what the manual mirrors are like, but I put in the VK electric mirrors into my VH 2 weekends ago and I also had to make new holes as my VH mirror holes didn't match the VK positions.

    All the best

It probably just needs some prying off with a screw driver. If it happens to break, you won't need it anyway.

Pull the rubber that guides the window away a little - that may also help, but be careful as it is probably brittle with age.

    Hope this helps
