My gf's VB commodore glovebox light is stuffed, the globe is not blown, i disconnected the light fixture coz the plastic lens was broken to glue it together, my gf then put it bak in, connected the wires and it worked. But the glue didnt work and it broke again so i took it out again glued it with super glue but when we connected it again it didnt work. So tonight i had a go at removing the glove box and the part of the dash around it so i could see wats going on behind there. BUT I COULDNT, am i missing somthing small all does the enitire centre have to come of first.
If this is a repeated topic im sorry i couldnt find any thread that had information i needed.
any help would be alot of help cheers guys and gals
In order to remove the glovebox cover itself, there is a hinge-like pin on the right hand side - inside the cover. If you are able to pull this back (from left to right from memory), the cover will come straight out.
As for the rest of the dashboard, once again from memory, the backing to the glovebox is one entire piece from the most left hand side and goes right through to the radio surround/heater controls.
Do you have to go through all this trouble just to get the glovebox light working? Have you checked to see that the switch is working alright? You shoud be able to get to this without pulling the whole dash out.
Good Luck.
