Check and make sure all your spark leads are on properly at the plugs and the dizzy cap, and make sure they arnt faulty. mine did the same thing and i spent heaps to fix it when it turns out 4 plugs leads were slightly off! now she runs cool

Ok a bit more info about the engine would be good, how long has the problem been going on for?
Whats the specs on the motor?
    Is it using coolant?
What RPM are you doing to make it overheat?

Something from left field, I had a harbonic balencer once that was slipping slightly, on the highway at a consistant speed it would cause the car to overheat.

    cheers
    Scott

cruising out on the highway u shouldnt really need your fans going the air flowing thru the radiator will be enuff

if your harmonic balancer is out of whack ur timing will be out and this can cause it.so can a to rich/to lean mix. to lean creates heat and to rich can cause fuel to still be burning when the exhaust valve is open and heats the heads and exh valve up chronically

u should not be having a problem with the stuff u have.i got a alloy radiator and overheating it is nigh on impossible. as for thermofans if its a pissy 16 inch thermo ### it off and get some falcon thermos.cured my problems.
So some people are complaining about my motto on cops.well if u knew what ive been thru u wouldnt.so quit your whinging!

okay heads done as far as can go, 6othou over 600 lift on cam fully done trimatic, 750 double pumper high rise performance manifold 12.6 @ 115 @ 3900rpm. To answer you question it gets hot if i run above two and a half goes to 98deg, real quick but don't go any further which makes me think its just not getting cold enough air into it , had motor stripped three times me and two different performance shop nothing in ternal, or timing, even had dizzy graphed
