    Default Thermo vs clutch

    hey

we were just looking at what we should replace the thermo fan in our car with we searched the forums....and found that:

Thermo Fan = More Heat + More Power
Clutch Fan = Less Heat + Less power

we were impressed with power difference between our 2 cars...one has a thermo and one the original clutch(which is pretty much screwed)...

is there a modification we can make (legally) to replace the power loss for putting a clutch back on...as the car is a daily driver, in traffic and we have always had issues with hot cars...heat is something we would rather not have to worry about

    thanks

Yeah the thermo is nice I had to run one when I had my hot 202 as I kept restroying water pumps at high RPM
I am running a smaller nylon fan on my daily driver instead of the big 7 blade clutch fan, which has been a happy comprimise between the 2.
Otherwise is you want to runt he clutch fan try fitting a 4 blade fan off a non airconditioned model.

    cheers

    Default Nylon?

when you say you been running the nylon....you mean a thermo....or a nylon replacement for the blades on the clutch...i'm confused....

nup just a nylon fan I scabbed sitting in the corner of a workshop I dont know what its off, bit it bolts up perfectly straight onto the water pump (note use shorter bolts).
Works a treat better pickup, the fan is much lighter, a bit smaller in diameter, runs a little warmer on hot days but most of the same just normal running temp.

    see the attached pic
