Speedo playin silly buggers

Sup all, the speedo in my VC seems to want revenge, it would count K's every now and again but would just cut out. i can't link when it goes or not to anything else, it seems to be random, so any advice would be helpful.

PS: i rely on the k counter to guess when to fill LPG tank.

Worn/slipping gears in the speedo are your problem. Here's a link to help you fix it:

Also might be a worn slipping driven gear on the end of the speedo cable in your gearbox.

I would hope it's my suggestion. I'd rather get under the car and unscrew a screw than pull the whole dash off.

I wouldn't go so far as to say the whole dash needs to be pulled apart if I'm right. But it will still test your patience unfortunately.

I commented on a step to take. I'd check the speedo gear first to see if the gear is maybe slipping with the cable etc...

There are a lot of screws to take the dash off and my point was to check out the speedo gear first. Good luck.

Ive had this same problem the only thing i havent replaced now is the gear that sits in the transmission im hoping this is it as i dont know what else to do ive even tried a speedo without cruise control thinking my transducer had started playing up.
