    Default 5 speed manual 308

ive been thinking about putting a 5 speed maula behind the 308 to come instead of a worked T350 auto. im thinking of a 5 speed from a vn 5ltr or mabey newer. the 308 is a turbo pattern. will it go in pretty easily or is it a bit of work? what gearbox do u guys reccomend.

Just a matter of using a normal VH V8 manual clutch setup, get a T5 & Bell housing, make sure you get the front part of the tailshaft or the whole thing.
Check out my site for gearbox crossmember info, speedo cable etc.

your tail shaft rear will unbolt & bolt the front section of the VN shaft up to your salisbury rear. The VN uses different sized unis so this is the way to do it, have a look for more info on my site.

    cheers

To use a one peice tailshaft you need to make a lot of mods to the floor, Commodores aren't designed to have one. I *think* you need to get the floor engineered for it.

Well smart arse How about you look into facts before mouthing off, cause you do need to get the floor re-engineered for one piece tailshaft cause it will hit the floor if you don't

hey bloke, its alot easier to get your standed tailshaft worked on and modified to suit the box rather than going to the expence of getting a bracket made for under the car, but for the dude who went he he he how about you get a bit more constructive, rather than bagging people, if you know how how about you tell the bloke, considering thats what this web site is for not ********s who feel tough bagging people with computer buttons.

    Default tailshaft

you need to ring a company called petron in brisbane to get the exact info but you need a yolk and front joint modified to fit a manual, and maybe get the actual tail shaft strenghened. The only reason i know this is because we tried to go the other way, and could find a place to mount a bracket for the one peice shaft, so petron did the mods to my old vk ss two peice shaft i dont know exactly how but they should be able to it was a long time ago, but i know their still in business, i checked for ya, good luck.
