I did a minor service on mine 4 months ago. I got a $12 minor service kit from Autobarn which includes new filter and 3 gaskets. It is easier having a pit when servicing too!

Myself and my cousin (farmer, full on jack of trades) where looking for a drain plug on the torque converter to drain that as well as the pan but couldn't find one, so we just drained the pan. You also need to adjust the band as well when servicing. I read that the Turbo 400/450 doesn't need band adjustment, but I will tell you the stuff you need to know below:

Transmission dry including converter: 8.7 litres use Dexron III
Transmission refill: 2.3 litres use Dexron III

Make sure you check how much fluid you are putting in. I found when refilling that the converter must hold a lot because I overfilled it thinking I was putting a normal amount in.

    Hope this helps.

When I did it, I had a pit. It helps a lot! You can do it with car stands with a bit of discomfort I guess!
First loosen off slightly maybe 2-3 turns of the back half bolts on the pan and then with the front bolts loosen off then making sure you have got a catch pan below because it can get really messy with oil everywhere! This way the pan tilts forward with most of the fluid flowing into the oil bucket. Then take the rest of the bolts off and do the minor service. Don't reuse the old gasket.

When I did mine, I noticed my transmission was going along heaps better than it was before. My pickup seemed to be improved quite a bit.

    Good luck.
