Basically i am looking at buying a VK, as the topic says, its a 202 EFI.
Its got 188,000km's on the clock, the body is as straight as a pencil, and the paint only needs minor work, which is pretty good for the age of the car. The guy who is selling it is asking for near on $2k for it, he says its road worthy... but i just want to know what i should look out for?
If the car does check out to be road worthy then ill probably buy it.
Anyway, attached is a pic of it, yes, only one, but that pic pretty much sums up the condition of the outside of it. The interior looks perfect, with the backseats looking like they have been used twice. As you can see, its as stock as a rock, which doesnt matter to me... can always change that cant i?
This is only something small, but when u open the doors see if they drop, if they dont its defantly a good thing, also look at the way the boot and bonnet open, i know that sounds dumb, but heaps of people told me to check it lol, also ur basics like if it starts first turn, how smooth it idles, lol well thats all i know, hope it helps...
Look under the car and check to see that all the rubber bushes are in good condition and not stripped. Check the rear trailing arm, front radius rod, link bushes etc...
Check the transmission to see if it shifts ok, no slipping when shifting down at speed, smoke, strange noise etc...
Probably no more than 2K with RWC would be ok as long as the interior isn't cactus and what I said about the bushes aren't stuffed. Make sure you check the tranny though. You could easily spend another 2K buying parts to do up the car too like I did but it depends on you.
Make sure if you buy it to get a good alarm and immobiliser fitted.
