Hey,
was just looking through on info for replacing the sump gasket and one dude was asking about where to put the chains to lift the engine......do i need to lift the engine to get at the sump, or can i do it with the car on ramps/stands?
ta
Well its best to lift the whole motor out. There is another way with some heavy longish pipe and chain that i have been told about.

You dont have to lift the engine but its easier to do that than remove the crossmember.
On a 202 I normally bolt a bracket onto the rear of inlet/exhaust side of the head and another onto where the aircon compressor bolts up.
If you dont have an engine crane etc you can unbolt the engine mounts off the crossmember (I loosen the gearbox mount as well) and using a trolly jack & a flat piece of wood jack up the engine then chain it to a beam laid across the strut towers.
If your replacing the sump gasket it might be worthwhile replacing the rear main if its been leaking as well.
cheers
