    Hey all

The VK Calais i recently got is duel fuel. How hre is my problem, it starts perfect on lpg, but i cant get it started on petrol. It just keeps trying until it sounds like it backfires?

Well, my duel fuel setup has been tuned for lpg, and have been told by the previous owner that it simply won't start on petrol, i admit, i have never tried, but i have it on good authority that it won't, so i don't risk it. So maybe yours is the same??

Prob i had, buggered solonoid. There should be two, one LPG, one Petrol. without tryin to start it, check that the solonoid trips when you change from LPG to petrol or vice versa

    EFI 202 or carb V8?

For EFI, it's probably clogged injectors. Get them cleaned. For carburettor, keep cranking it and see if you can see fuel in the carb squirting out the jets.

ok, its efi.. the switch between lpg/petrol DOES click.

I was suggested the injectors may be clogged and its cheaper to replace then clean.. is this true?

EDIT: Mostly itll backfire or nothing will happen.. on one try however.. it almost started.. sounded like it was going to, but it just backfired instead..

Yeah that sounds like it has part of the head firing but not the rest. Mind you, I accidently got a pair of my spark leads around the wrong way and it ran rough and then backfired and cut out.

It does sound like clogged injectors to me but I ain't a very knowledgable person on EFI cars. I would leave it to someone else to answer. Maybe Scott (vkberlina) might be lurking around
