steering shaft

on mi vk that ive just brought u can pull on the steering wheel up and the hold shaft slides up i checked the lower cuplink and ive inspected the shaft with some1 else pulling it but it dosent look like its moving it also has excess float to it any ideas any1

Check the bolt where it bolts onto your peddle box and also the bolts that hold it to the dash as they might off come lose

it isnt the whole unit that pulls forward its just the center shaft like when u pull on the wheel it pops out and everything else stays still its wierd
