i wanted 2 do this 2 my vk, but they are impossible 2 find in good working order and every1 tells me not 2 do it coz its tonnes hard and a lot of work or wotever

yeah both of ours are from EFI 202, so will only work on EFI 202.....

Not sure if its been said, but I had the common low coolant issue. Mine was due to a non calais radiator being fitted and the sensor never being installed again.

Anyway, a mate has a good trick. Theres a white moulded circuit board pack about the size of a match box but half the thickness, which is under the dash. Rip that out and no more coolant warning, it doesn't effect anything else either.

I can find out its exact location if anyone wants to do it, it took my mate a matter of seconds to remove it via the unsused fuse cover beneath the steering column.

You think it wouldn't work in a 202 carb? Just because they didn't come out with it in the SL and Vacationer carb 202's, doesn't mean it won't fit! Providing you have the coolant and temperature sensors and the transducer for the speedo, I don't see a problem.

I have 3 full working ones here..... & my mate has one as well all works no problems, Ive only ever come accross one faulty one personaly, the rest are fine!!!

A VK digital Dash will work just fine in a Carbie 202 VK, I have a complete conversion here I was going to put into my VK but have decided not to and will be selling it soon to finance my new guage set. I have the speedo cable, transducer dash cluster, all the sensors & most importantly the wiring harness for the digital dash & the cluster

When I asked on another forum about putting a VKC dash in my VH, here's wat one member said:

The Calais dash has 32 wires that connect to it, if your still keen I could probably sus out what is needed to make it work.... not a small job though, and you would need a fuel flow sensor on the engine for fuel calculations, a low coolant sensor on the radiator, a calais fuel sender unit, and probably some other items that i haven't remembered.

i have a vk berlina wagon with the fuel injected 202 in it and have thought about this conversion aswell any info on installation would be apprectiated also any one who has a vkc dash for sale please let me know cause i have not been able to find one thanks!!!!!

I installed the digital instruments into a standard VK executive after my Calais was written off.

My dash just hit 380,000Km and still works fine

My mate has got a efi one out of a 202 in his VK 308 carby and it works fine. All he done was got a transduicer and cable and the wireing harness that goes into the back of a didgital calais dash and swapped the harness over a nd fitted the calais dash and bob is your uncle. You need to run wires from the transducer to the new harness to pick up the signal
