Red face a couple of dumb questions for a VH ...

    Gday Guys ,

Firstly , My Vaccum gauge is not working as its meant to , and when i was scouting around the Engine Bay earlier i found a small thin rubber hose with an end broken on it , i traced it to the back of the Carby , could this be the Cause ???

Secondly , Is a Heater Core easy to pull out , if so can it be done by a complete tit ?

Third , How do i fit a Tacho to the Car , im not talking about a big 'uleh' tacho for dragging , but the vaccumm gauge is where the tacho gauge should be in most other cars and im more interested in RPM not Hp1 , is there a way to fit one ? I seen Shawns VH Beast and he had three little ones in the compartment under the CD Player , I Like the Idea but his were for Voltage , So is there a Small Tacho or is it worth Replaciing the whole dash ??????

And Last , I want to Cut the Rear Left Quarter off my Spare Parts Car and get it put on to my Good Car , Should i Attempt this on my own , or get a professional to do it , or is there anyone who could give me some hints on how to do it , im not scared to try but knowing what to cut first would be good !

    Any Help would be Appreciated

Dont Forget i have everything from the parts car available , give me a bell ,

    hey,
its easy to fit a tacho to the VH. the wires coming out of the tach go to igintion power, instrument cluster lights and then one to the negative side of the ignition coil.
i ont know about changing the dash, but i guess you could. this way the wiring loom that plugs into it should already have the wires necessary for the tacho. the SS came out with the tacho in the dash, i dont know which others did, probably any of the manuals.
with the vac gauge, it could be that pipe, does it "suck"onto your finger while the car is running? there may be another pipe that is causing hte faulty readings.
i am unsure about the heater core, what the problem with it?
    hope some of this helps

You can Pick up an SLE dash from VB to VH they'll have the tacho plus volt and oil pressure gauges. Then you change the oil pressure switch to pressure sensor. Picked one up for about $30 - $50 think it was. then got tacho recalibrated to 6 Cylinder.
