How big a job is replacing the ERG on a VK 202? Cos im looking at getting a VK at the moment, i havent actually gone and had a look at it yet, but it seems to be in pretty good nick from what the guy has told me...

Apart from the ERG whatsit. Note: im not all that mechanically minded, i mean if something goes wrong ill take a guess, but probably wont be right

So, how big a job is it? The exhaust place quoted $120 (best case) and $300+ (worst case, if something or other breaks) to get it fixed.

I dunno... Should i still be looking into this car or should i just let it go?

you probably mean EGR (engine gas recirculation)

if you keep the valve clean you wont have issues with rego or performance/economy

the problem with them is they bolck up with carbon and crap

i went thru mine and unblocked all the channels blocked with caked carbon and never had a problem with it again

also running 98 octane unleaded with a upper cylinder lubricant will help prevent it happening again.
