Hi again, thanks to some help from this site, got my sons VK tranny in and all is good.
New problem, my 202 installed into a 83 Toyota Hilux 4x4. best thing I ever did to my Lux, problem has been overheating, replaced, Radiator, WP, TS, and pipe, also heat sender unit, gauge was going into red, tested gauge and is ok, running on dual fuel, on LPG, goes gr8, unleaded runs like a lawn mower with no spark, splutters like a bad weld. Drove it today and when hot it stalled, and took a while b4 it would go again, is it vacuum problems?, looks like a leak at the Head gasket, would that do it?. I have recently gutted the ol girl and cut out all rust, welded in zincaneel instead of bog, and did a nice metallic blue, looks good, runs bad, want both to be good b4 Easter, another prob with older 83 Luxes was a 4 spd box, needs a 5 speed, then all systems are go.
Any help will be appreciated
It could be ur gaskets, one near the exhaust could be heating up the water..
If all else fails mate you could try thermos
With the head leaking, is there oil in the water (you can see it in the radiator) or is there water in the oil (whiteish oil, cheak both dipstick and oil cap)
Timing out?
Sticky needle and seat?
Crap in jet?
Float adjustment?
Fuel pump not working?
Thermo doesnt work?
I think it will be one of those, I maybe wrong
Thanx for quick response, new Thermostat (TS), will replace headgasket, it is near the Extractor pipes, thanx for that, also no water in Oil or radiator, stupid buggas at radiator place, put in ne core etc, all nice and shiney, unfortunately the welded the old tanks up too high, now can't close the bonnet properly, sheesh, where has professionalism gone to, timing may be out, thanks for the list too, got something to go on, eliminate one at a time.
timing would be the last thing on my mind mate, but give the gasket a go![]()
If it is only stalling on gas check to see if the gas convertor is freezing up and if so check water flow through the converter.
Thanks heaps for info.
Booking it into get gasket done, have me me me, hard to say it, mechanic check it out.
Don't think timing is an issue at the moment, gas freezing can happen, have to check that out too, all good info
Cheers
