I decided to make a tribute to the vh in the form of an office chair using the passenger seat.
I got a fairly solid office chair from the dump shop, and ripped the top off of it.
I got some structural 5 ply from the hardware store and bolted it to the runners on the car seat and then bolted that to the office chair base.
Then i sat in it and nearly died.
it is too high. i need to either
1 - get rid of the runners (which are welded to the seat)
2 - bolt the wood to the metal closer to the seat base.
runners welded on
or bolt the wood to the two bits of metal at the front and rear of the seat base
any suggestions or previous experiences with these seats?

I have an office chair very similar to yours which the back.. fell off.. it's just sitting there and doesn't provide any back support.. TBH I think you've had a brilliant idea and if you don't mind I might do the same?
go for it juzza. if you get it worked out in the next hour or so, let me know
it's not that original though. i posted it up on ls1 yesterday, and a few guys have them already, but with classy seats like hsv or recaro ones.
