    small block chev

I have said a heap of times, cheaper to hot up a 308, even throw in a EFi 5litre sounds better IMO

Have you got a few thousand bucks? You would be better off buying a VK 308 with all the things you need instead of tracking down everything and changing your 202.

If you do have the cash and you want muscle, i'd personal go with the 350 chev, I've heard of a 350 chev dusting today's skylines while still being stock..

but then again buying a VK 308 as zoist said might not be a bad idea also

don't be a pussy, invest in a chevy 454 big block. jokes aside, used to own an hq wagon with a 308 with a lumpy cam, edelbrock headers, 650 holley carb and on the rare occasions when it was running nicely, before i parked it into the side of a building (excess speed while cornering + bad camber + big gutters + just wee bit of tequila = stumbling/running away from coppers, luckily laughing) was more than enough to always be grining when i drove it. just spend a few dollars on tweeking the 308 and you'll be happy.

Why not fit a 355 stroker kit to the 308, their every bit as good as the chev if not better, cost a shit load less and don't require any engineering. Your insurance company and the cops will be none the wiser either.

What do u start with, more cubes or less. Cheaper to build a 308 but there is heaps of potential in a 350 plus u can get a lot of interisting goodies for them now.

As tough as any V8 in a VK can be, a chev motor would be different, as there ain't many around......unfortunatly, thats for good reason.

SBC into VB-L engine bay requires firewall massage, and brakebooster relocation, not by much, but alittle can be more of a pain in the ass than alot.

If I had the money/time, I'd love to do a prostock theme VK with a 327.

Concidering I dont own a wreakers, or oil company, I'd personaly go the injected 5L, and if need be, throw in a stroker kit for good measure.

Having helped out b4 with this conversion, a couple of tips......keep in mind that EFI needs a fuel return from the engine bay, so keep that 6 cyl fuel system, as it may come in handy, the other is to remember that VL's are like the VK twin, so you may be able to use some VL EFI bits to help cut costs.

    Good Luck !!!

the 350 is about the same cost depending were you look and a 350 is sounding a better choice as a storker kit here in nz wood cost more to get the same power as a 350
