All,
Finally found my dream car, a mint VK with an injected 3.3.
Driving her home she feels a little sluggish and lacks oomph.
Whats a good basic tune up I can do for her?
I'll do all the basics - plugs, leads, filters, oil, but is there any magic liquids, potions brews or wands that I can wave in her general direction to get some life back??
In the future I want to get another 202 for a ground up rebuild a la Street Machine's "Grunt Hunt" but for now its just routine stuff.
Thanks
Andrew

have a look at the airbox. The air filter could be clog with dirt and stuff. Also i don't know how good injecter clean is, maybe give that a go?.

A lucky owner of 2 SL/E Commodores, a rare VB SL/E and a 2 tone VC SL/E. Just need a VH SL/E and have the set!
Replace the usual
Airfilter, Oil,Oil Filter, Plugs, Leads, Rotor button & Cap. I would probably replace the thermostat, hoses & belts so I had a starting point with the car.
Clean the throttle body & airflow meter. Make sure the EGR system is not blocked and is working correctly.
Remove the injectors get them cleaned by an injector place and fit new baskets & O-rings.
Check for Vacuum leaks & set the timing
Run it on 98 octane fuel and it should be sweet.
cheers
Scott

add a bottle of holden top engine cleaner. add it EXACTLY as per instructions on the bottle. about 20 bucks from your friendly holden dealer. only one i have ever used that makes a noticeable difference to the vk efi system. especially if its slow to start when hot.
change the fuel filter its probly clogged with 20 years of crap
