I remember a mate of mine did change the dash speakers on his vk calais a few years ago. I dont recall him having trouble fitting them in, he made sure before buying the new speakers, that they were the same size.

I have wanted to replace my front speakers with 4 inch Jaycar super tweeter ones but not sure if it would fit.

How do I remove them without busting the plastic? Any tips?

Hmm let me see. I think they are the same as a VL, you need to take the air vent at the ends of the dash out to see the screws, you undo them. When you have done this they should come out easy, the grille bits i mean.

nar they r held on with these clips and you have to ease them up with your fingers or a screw driver somtimes they come out easy other times there a f&*ker to get out but they are one peace. i think the speakers are held on with little screws at ethier side of the plastic.
