    Default 202 Performance engine

    Hey guys
Just after a bit of help with my new engine and which way to go.
    i have a black 202 with a T5 borg worner. 2 1/2 inch lukey with extracters

i was thinking about boring 30 tho using ACL flattops pistons the same as the HQ racing cars
    A crowcam 40/90 or bigger
    standard oil pump
    acl bearings
ignition from a auto motor 202

i have got the head done and it has bigger valves and bigger valve springs and it has been sorta ported. by this i meen the ports have been cleaned up and de bured aswell as made a bit smoother.
    Yella terra rolla rockers

    webber 34adm duel throat
    lightened fly wheel
    regrind on crank
    and full engine balance
just wondering what u think and any changes or suggestions that u guys have. Also if u guys no what sorta power i would be looking at.
    cheers
    Graeme

I had a hot 202 and I will say never again!!!

Mine ran .030" ACL race series pistons I ran dished, make sure you CC your head before you select your pistons else you might end up with too high compression.
Make sure you check valve to piston to side of the bore clearences with a dial indicator, I needed to machine out a section on the top side of the bore so the valves would clear.

I used the ACL race series bearing & rebuild kit, I couldnt fault it.

Buy a JP High Volume oil pump it will sold any potential oil starvation issues.
Also install a splash guard in the sump, you can buy High volume sumps which I think have them fitted.

Buy KC alloy high rise rocker cover & alloy side plates, they cut down some noise & are quite well made, just make sure they are straight.

Talk to Crow about the CAM work out your diff ratio, gear ratios, type of driving, wheel & tire sizes before picking your cam. Also buy your valves, valve springs, collets, retainers & .080" push rods from them as well.
You will probably end up going a custom grind I did, use something around a 112deg lobe offset it will still give a reasonable idle without loosing too much vacumn.

Throw out the weber and go injection buy something like a Haltec E6X run tripple coil packs, use a VK EFI inlet manifold & throttle body, higher flow injectors, use the mounting brackets off a V6 for your CAS.

After that you should have a pretty strong 202.

    cheers
    Scott

I would definately put a high volume oil pump on it if you are going to give it a caning. Six cylinder holdens usually run out of oil pressure when you rev them above 7500rpm with the standard oil pump.
