Default Engine + engine bay colours?

    Wondering what would look best,

A light coloured engine in a dark engine bay or a dark engine in a light bay.

My first preference was that a bright yellow engine would look great in a silver engine bay but then had second thoughts that maybe there would not be enough contrast to get the ooooohs and ahhhhhs.

Second preference was a forest green engine in said silver engine bay.

But would a forest green engine bay with bright yellow or silver engine work???

My car is going to be two tone black and silver like the factory vc paint scheme and I intended to have something totally different for the engine bay as I do not want a red or blue 202 like everyone else.

i reckon a black block, Polished rockers, polished manifold with Parts of it the colour of the body. Lots of polished stuff. And just paint the engine bay the body colour. Expensive i know, but its just a clean , Professional looking engine bay. Thats how im gonna do the ute acually.

Personally I prefer a black engine block with all bolt-ons chromed or polished.

My Hot EFI 202 had a bright red rocker cover, polished inlet manifold, throttle body, polished coil, water pump, thermostat housing, polished aircon compressor etc.
My EFI 5L has something similer, polished inlet manifold, polished engine covers, rocker covers with red highlights, all brackets will eventually be either alloy or chomed.

I know someone building a new engine its got a red block, bit an pieces painted blue, yellow, gold, silver. It looks like a rainbow. Pick 1 or maybe 2 colours that will go with the cars scheme on a commodore I think the engine bay should be the same colour as the body shell colour.

Lighter colours will show oil leaks, road dirt etc.

At the end of the day your colour choice is your choice and if you like it great dont worry about anyone else.

    cheers
    Scott

I am have been thinking about it and I quite like Scotts black and chrome suggestion.

Chrome or stainless bolts, water neck, side plates, rocker cover over a black block.

I imagine you can get a black dizzy cover and black leads?

What about the EFI manifold?? Paint it black too??

Probably about $30 in materials, I already owned the polishing equipment. Oh plus over 50 hours worth of time the EFI manifolds are really poor in finish and mine took ages to clean up.
