I've got a VC Commodore with a buggered motor. (202, and trimatic.)
I've just bought a VH engine and transmission. (202 and trimatic.)
I just wanted to make sure that it'll fit with no problems, and if I can use my old transmission because I know it's in very good condition. I know they're the same engine and trans, but that may have different emissions control and what-not.
Is there anything extra I need to do, or will it just slot in and hook up no worries?
Everything should be exactly the same, the VH is just a face lifted VC
VB had the red motors. The VH had blue motors, the same motor and all as the VC

A lucky owner of 2 SL/E Commodores, a rare VB SL/E and a 2 tone VC SL/E. Just need a VH SL/E and have the set!
Nope, again VBs got the red motors. The VC got the upgraded 6/V8 and the whole motor was painted blue, the same for VHs. I think late VHs did get the black version of the 6/V8s.

Cheers guys. I was pretty sure it'll all fit, it's just a few vacuum hoses are different from my VC to my mates VC.
Looks like I shouldn't have any trouble.![]()
Will it be easier to stick the engine and trans in as one piece with an engine crane - or won't it fit? Anyone tried this?
