    hey
i just bought a VH 253 manual....on the build plate, it says "184" after the first line of info, ie the "VK8VK" or something like that!
    does this mean anything special?

Got a picture of your build plate?

I'm sure on the side of the engine at the bottom on the left hand side, it should have a plate telling you your engine size eg 3.3

Sorry but I'm not sure what to do if things dont match... i'm also drinking rums atm lol! but im trying to help..

Sorry mate I don't have a VC manual. I am not sure there was a VC supplement manual from Holden. I might be wrong. I have the VB manual which is a thick manual and has everything you'd need to know as VB's and VC's are very similar. If you need to know something specific, send me a private msg and I will scan it for you.

I should add that the VB Holden manual is relevent right up to the VK model as the body is mostly the same amoung many other bits and peices.

Yours is a mixture of body VB-VK plus and minus a few engine bay parts and interior bits. That's about it.

But like I said before, I love the VB's and VC's. One day I will restore one. I still need to work on my current one though

    Hmmm a V8 the possibilities...

My next project car would either be HQ V8 Ute or VL

ps. Only three 440ml state of origin cans to go!!! Go the maroons!

Yeah, there was one issued, and like you said Zoist because there was bugger all mods from the VB to the VC it's only about 10% as thick as the VB base manual. I've got one at home and I'll have a look at it tonight for you Goon.

Good to see some VB-VC lovers on here. I drove the VC to work today with a smile on my face (stupid WH not happy at the moment), because the mighty VC never lets me down!!

Lets get back onto topic please(although damn funny about VB beer)

184 means its a 184 pack VH. What it means is that it could be a SL with 253 manual transmission, thats all.

A lucky owner of 2 SL/E Commodores, a rare VB SL/E and a 2 tone VC SL/E. Just need a VH SL/E and have the set!
