You can always test your started motor by taking it out and connecting a postive and negtive it should spin.

Get under the barge and grab hold of the lower pulley real tight and turn it. I have done it with my 5L V8, so you can do it with a small six!

Technially you need to take the spark plugs out. Takes these out and its easy to turn by hand. The motor has no compression this way.
So if anyone can turn the motor by hand with the pullys easy, you have problems!

Try putting a breaker bar & socket on the front of the crank....works a treat.

You cant really use the breaker bar trick on the end of the crank on a 202. Unlike the V8 the 202 harmonic balencer is a friction fit.

If you knock all the spark plugs out you may be able to rotate the crank shaft pully by hand.

before you buy a reco starter get a price on a new bosch one, last time i checked the price difference was marginal

    cheers

that happened on my old toranayes it should be hard to turn and if you buy and new starter motor it will be good (it was a 202 red motor that it happened to)
