hello,
Q1. i am interested in knowing if you can fit vp calais seats into a VH sl or if you can if em in a vk berlina (my mates car)
i might be able to get a full interior off my mates dad who is wrecking his vp that he crashed
so would they fit?
Q2. i just wanted to know what the difference would be if i changed my vh diff to a vk or vl diff (more low end power or more speed ect)
thanks in advance Pat
yea
i pretty sure that front seats will fit in but the rear one is the only problem as i think it may be a wider? has any1 fitted them before or vn seats
VN seats will fit in a VB-VK you need to get yourself some 85 VK seat rails and fit them to the VN seat, or buy 2 extra outside rails for the VN seats and mount the LH rail on the RH inside and visa versa. You need to do this as the VN has a hump in the floor for the cats on the inside near the transmission tunnel and the inside rails are different.
As for the back seats I tried on my VK runabout but they are too wide, they could probably be cut down and retrimmen but it wouldnt be worth the hassle.
As for the Diff, VB-VK 84 us a salisbury diff VK 85-VL use a 78 series borgwarner, your much better off going the borgwarner, bigger axels, stronger diff etc. If you have the $$ buy yourself a VL turbo LSD (3.45:1) or a 5L VL LSD (3.08:1) depending what ratio you want. Also the borgwarner diff gears are readily available as the VN-VS (maybe later) run a 28 spline borgwarner standard. The diffs are different width but the gears are interchangable.

oh cool thanks mate
looks like i'll be on ebay...i like the sound of a vl turbo diff
Goon,
I am sure I saw a 10 bolt go for over $500, so you'll be paying for it I'm sure.
I have a Salisbury 10 bolt in my VK 308. As I said in my previous post, I saw one go for a bit but prices vary. You might get one cheap from a wrecker. I am not sure if it would fit a VC but the VB-VK body is all the same I think. Mines a LSD Limited Slip Diff but why would you want such a heavy diff for your 202?
Then get a 308![]()
Ok keep a look out for a VL turbo diff, I bought one complete disc to disc, new nolathane bushes including trailing arms for $600 delivered, I stripped it down and it was in top condition, I still put bearings, had the cones machined in the LSD and installed new axel seals whilst I was at it.Originally Posted by Goon
I also installed VZ monaro ventilated rear discs, brand new hand brake assembly and a bare metal 2pac respray.
Mounted in the car it set me back approx $850-900 for a fully rebuilt diff.
Fuel economy wise I have a T5 in mine and as long and you dont hoon around at WOT all the time you would be surprised how good the aussie 5L economy is. I used to get 10l/100km around town out of mild 5L in a 1 tonner, it ran a quadrajet with a 2.78 diff with an M21, it used to pull 110km/hr out of 1st gear.
cheers
