hello people,
i am trying to fit my headunit into my vh and it sticks out about an inch
is there anyway around this or am i just buggered
it his a pillar of some sort in the middle of the stock radio spot
its about 5 cm wide is it holding anything up or would i be able to cut a section of it off so my headunit will fit in like a nice headunit should
plz help i have run out of my bottle of coke and m&ms so i have stopped trying to fit it lol
When fitting an aftermarket headunit to a VH you need to remove the Receiver support bracket, it is held inplace by 2 screws at the outside top of the bracket.
Once removed it should fit.
cheers
Scott

remove all of the original radio housing and get a new1 that fits it nice and snug and start from scratch.... just thought i'd reply because i saw u were from tuggers canberra, im also from tuggers, what colour is ur VH?
bronze vactioner (not on the road yet)
you would have prob seen my mates vh though
its stock blue with 17" chromies and original 5 speed
i live in chisholm
oh and it has had a headunit in it before i bought it so the stock radio has been removed
i will take a picture of it when i get it back sometime nextweek
on the left near your heater controls there is a bit of plastic u will have to grind that back to make it fit i used a die grinder or dremal and it works a treat
hey man, go with the die grinder idea, many a times that has helped me... but the vh u speak of, is it two tone silver blue? with gts replica chromes?
