Unhappy The sad end to my VK.

I thought i'd post this here for my fellow VB/C/H/K drivers. I'm pretty upset at the moment so forgive me if i ramble on.

I destroyed my Vk this afternoon in a pretty scary accident. i had just entered a shopping centre carpark when the car just took off. I just couldn't stop it and jammed on the brakes. They locked up completely but the motor continued to rev harder. I didn't have time to do anything else but duck my head and then bang. The car pretty much plowed into a parked 4wd which went into the next car parked beside it, then the next and the next. 4 cars all up sandwiched side by side. My car continued to rev pushing against the cars. the only thing i could do was turn it of to stop the engine reving.

It was just horrible and i still feel lousy. i'm really sore at the moment too.

Anyway, what the hell happened? One of the attending police officers had a look under the bonnet and said the they could see that the throttle was jammed open. this explains why the car wouldn't stop. But its pretty bloody scary to think that this could happen.

I'm currently going through the thoughts of, What did i do? How did this happen? What should i have done? Just wishing it didn't happen.

I have pictures but it breaks my heart to look at them so i won't post any.

Ouch... that sounds like some nasty shit.. terrifying I'm sure :S

Main thing is noone seriously hurt, and I assume everything is insured (otherwise you would have already pawned off the computer and wouldn't be able to post this )

Thanks everyone. The insurance is already sorted out, but i don't really care about the car at the moment. I'm so lucky no one was killed. I've already spoken to one of the owners this morning, he was pretty good about it. Its taken a bit of weight of my mind.

At the moment i don't feel like driving ever again! Cars are too powerful, heavy and dangerous. I'm sure i'll get over it though.

I while back on my car, one of the hoses was rubbing against the throttle lever and the same thing could have happened to me if I didn't fix it.

A friend of mine wrote off his HQ and was too scared to drive so his mate was driving him to work n a XW falcon which he wrote off on the way home from work a couple days later both stacks were 160km/h big big crashes. He was so scared of cars then that he had to force himself to go to the shed and get his Torana out that he hardly ever drove and just keep driving around till he got his head around it. Put an extra return spring on your VP (VP's allready have two but just to be triple sure) and go for some little drives now before you get ground into never driving again. You could also install a kill switch if that helps get your head around it so you can knock the engine off if anything crazy was to happen again

Dude I know how it is.
Three weeks ago a yeti on a motorbike lost it passing cars, hit me in my silver VK wagon with such force it blew me off the road and into a ditch!!
My poor old wagon was pretty bent.
We had to do hard out first aid on the bike rider who did rolly polly's down the road and ended up with compund fractures and wounds literally to the bone!! Dudes still alive but I was looking at one of his arm bones through a big hole in his arm while we we working to stop the bleeding....

Left me real road shy that did. We got a new mortgage not too long ago and had a bit of spare cash and managed to pick up a nice and tidy VK 3.3 injected but seriously man, I drive like a NANA now!!

Hearts out to you man - no idea what caused your throttle to stick, maybe a bolt or nut came loose in the linkages and the bump going from the road to the carpark or a speedbump was the last little bit it needed...

    Chin up.
