Hey all
I have and 84 vk that has been through 3 headlight switches after a bit of driving they just melt and die i am replacing them with new ones is there any way to fix this. Im thinking of buying some switches and making up a little panel to mount them in. can anyone hlep me????![]()
Yes there is a way to fix this problem. There is two ways.
First I have to ask you is your H4 headlight bulbs 55/60 watt ones or 55/90 watt ones? I reckon they are 55 or 60/90 watt ones. Replace them with 55/60 watt ones. They higher wattage ones draw more current and melt the fuse rail and switch mechanism.
The other thing to do which I have done is add relays to your headlights. Not only will they be brighter, but will never make your switch or fuse rail melt again. Check out my thread here:
