I was hoping somebody in his/her wisdom on this site might be able to help me with "how to tune a VK carby"
Its been running a little thirsty since I got it, not long though, and blows a greyblack smoke (not blue) when under 75% load or more. Bit hard to start when cold aswell and I have cleaned it with carby clean.
I thought I might hav a stab at it, but when I got all the gear around it all off, all I could see was the carby but no idea how to tune it.
Could maybe someone give us some tips at least to help it fuel abit better.
T
the verajet carb is relativly straitfoward using a beer coaster
place it over halve the intake note any change in rpm
1/ if the rpm die's wind the fuel mixture anticlockwise
2/ if the rpm increases wind the fuel mixture clockwise
(the fuel mixure screw is located at the base of the carby it may have anti tamper plastic shelde)
Research has shown that men usually sleep on the right side of the bed.
Even in our sleep we happen to be right.

You may have to tune the Mixer screw and the idle screw until you get something your happy with.
You could also buy a timing gun and do a the timing yourself if u have the manual and you have a good idea on what you are doing
I also suggest trying a bottle of nylon tune up and 2x bottles of stop smoke. "Check oil levels while doing this"
Cheers guys I will try that.
See what happens hay.
