i want to find out if it is possible to supercharge a black 202 carby engine, if so what brands should i look for and where?????
yeh but why would you?...you are talking an engine designed over 40 years ago, you are going spend a fortune to get any sort of result from it without it going bang
you are much better off doing a V6 conversion, or buying a L67 (factory supercharged V6 from the VS-VY), your wallet and sanity will be the real winners, and the thing will go like a rocket
Why not?
use something like this

and blow through the carby. Mabey an sc14?
This may be of some help. Or maybe not...![]()

Yeah it can be done and with some good results, forced induction loves big lazy engines. When you get bored with the draw through SC setup you can move onto a turbo charger. I saw an LJ at the track run 11 sec passes all day with a turbo 202.
A 202 is a very tough engine if certain pieces are replaced like the timing gear for an alloy one etc. My mate was doing his mechanics course and they got this 202 and tried to blow it up with constant full revs, it took around 45 minutes at full throttle to kill it.

would it be an idea to rebuilt your motor !before installing? alot of 202's have 200000+ km's on them, i know mine does!
You can rebuild 202's cheap. Ive done one with ACL pistons and a few other goodies for just under $2000. It went into my mated torrie and made some good power. till the throttle got stuck and it bent a couple of valves....Originally Posted by hocus
But still you could do it with some low comp pistons and new bearings for nothing at all.
would there be a supercharger kit for the 202 EFI's?
cheers![]()
Castlemaine Rod Shop has a kit around 1500 but its too small for a 202.
You could put a 4/71 on it but you would have to get a manifold made for it.
