Ok the other day after about a year of saving and waiting i re-built and put in a normal 202 black block with larger pistons and all that.... but when i put it in and started it for the first time there was a huge pool under my car of oil!!!! :b:
Is this the rear main seal or could it be something else as it has all new gaskets and seals
...............
This is something that is really frustrating as i dont have a car now what is the quickets way of fixing this???
you need to find where the leak is comming from, then we can help.
Steve
I have seen an apprentice before forget to fit the sump plug
If its dumping a load of oil out fast I would say rear main, timing cover seal/harmonic balencer seal. Or someone forgot to screw int he oil pressure switch.
as slundy said where is the oil coming from?

ok i'll find that out first.... and lol to those apprentice's mistakes
Oh......... im 99% sure it is coming from the back because the gearbox housing had lots of oil dripping off of it if that helps but when theres time i will take a closer look
Something is not tight or a seal has been put in wrong I would say. Who rebuilt it?
I would say rear main for sure. oculd be the back of the sump gasket if the rubber parts doesnt fit directly into the cork it will leak.
did you use a rope or rubber seal?
