hey guys, In the process of removing the blown 3.3 'n putting a 253 in the runabout VB wagon 'n I was just wondering if they had a short or long snout waterpump. The engine came as a long assy with traumatic but no ancilliaries(carby, fuel pump, waterpump pulleies etc.)
Also, if its a short pump, would a long 1 hit thr radiator coz the viscous fan would work more efficiently, closer 2 the rad.??(I know I'll have 2 change the pullies, but I only have the bottom 1 atm anyway)
Hope my VBV8 workshop manual rocks up this week from eBay...
253/308 = short
304 = long
You can use the long pumps + fan on a 253 and I would suggest using a gilmer drive (I just love the sound). All depends on what the car is for; performance or what?
You could also set up twin thermos.
Nah, it 4 a cheap runabout, so, the cheaper, the better. Gilmer goes on the good car-same reason, plus the positive grip....
Just stick with a short then, less fuc*ing around.
By blown 3.3 do you mean rooted or forced induction?
Could be a stupid question but I was just wondering......
Nah, number 5 was 1/2 missing/melted, so yeah its pretty much stuffed...
Ah, I was thinking, removing a supercharged 202 for a 253? Huh?
But that is a good upgrade, love the 253's.
