Just put an injected 5l from early vn into my vk and i have some issues with running power steering lines. i have lines from a vn and 2 things wrong .1. the ends of the lines seem to be a little different ( vk VS vn) also the nuts on the lines are both different sizes - big nut for high pressure small nut for return ( or vice versa) where as the vk lines are opposite. Im not sure if the the system will work if the flow is reversed if i was to just swap the lines over. any help would be very much appreciated. id rater not change racks but is there and difference in racks from vk, vl, vn? as in the length? thanx in advanced
your prob best to change the whole lot..

not wat i wanted to hear... thanx anyway. good site by hte way x member just been painted, motors in most of its donr so i dont plan on changing x members so dnt get pirtek to do the lines? how much they charge u by the way? anyone else apart from pirtek that do that kinda work?
On my site I say there is no need to change the cross member, All you need to do is buy a VN 5L high pressure power steering line, cut the tag off as pictured on my site, get Enzed to do the hose the guys there fixed what Pirtek messeed up.
The whole story with Pirtek was I took the hose there and supplied them with 2 brand new hoses a VK high pressure (on loan from holden) and a VN high pressure and said find a nut THE SAME as the VK one and put it on the VN line, dont take the nut off the VK line as its a brand new hose on loan from holden.
I sent someone to pickup the lines, I get home they had cut the line as requested but put the same nut back on & sold it to me! I took it back with the sample and explained to them the sameply was not mine and not to damage it, I go to pick it up and they had cut the New VK line and use the nut off that!!! Pirtek would not pay for their mistake, nor refund or discount the work they had done for me. So not only did I have to pay for their work but also pay Holden for the line I had borrowed that Pirtek destroyed.
Then once fitted the line began to leaf where they had joined it, I took it to Enzed (actually it was a mobile guy) who promptly fixed it he made up a new sleeve as the one Pirtek had used was too short. He was doing a job around the corner from where I worked and did it straight after that job.
cheers
Scott
