Clean up all the earth points on the car, the VB-VL have a bad habit with bad earth.

so bad earth can cause the indicator going on with brakes etc..?

That's a very common problem with earlier commos. Trust me, I had the same problem.
What you need to do is in the boot, cut the earth wire which should be black from one of the tail light globe holders and crimp or solder and heatshrink it and with an eye crimp connector, screw it into the rear chassis. This should fix it.
Without it on mine, I would press the brake pedal and the indicators would come on or it would put the reverse lights on etc... In other words, add an earth wire from your tail lights in the boot to the chassis. It should fix it.
alright, i will do it tomorrow.. thanks for the tip.. will this also need doing for the indicator?

Did you get this fixed as mine is doing the same thing.
I don't think it's necessary to earth the indicator(s) either because I think the earths for the globes in the boot are all joined together...in the boot.Originally Posted by whitevc
